Olympic Couture
August 14, 2008
The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympics (BOCOG) and China Fashion Association presented “Olympic Beijing, Fashion China”. The creations were originated from costumes in ancient China’s state of Chu during the Warring States period (475 B.C. to 221 B.C.)
Included in the fashion show was a combination of fur coats, crossed collar dresses, narrow sleeves, leather accessories and showy brocades. Definitely an unexpected spectacle for a sports audience, but very entertaining because of its extravagance.
Ancient China Costumes

That is haute couture… love it. Thanks for posting.
Chinese fashion is amazing! And the models are incredible.
How did you find those pics! I’ve been looking for a few days. Anyway, the clothes look great.
This collection reminds me of McQueen’s… don’t you think?
